Built in 1876 for a local jute family Taychreggan has had a very long and varied history, from a family home until 1946 to its current persona as a family-run hotel, it's fair to say if walls could talk we would be listening for a very long time...

Jute was one of  "Three J's" Dundee was, and still is, famous for - Jute, Jam and Journalism.

The "three J's" are still alive and kicking throughout Dundee and Broughty Ferry, on differing scales, and form a very important part of our local history and, hopefully, our future.
